Heirloom Spanish sweet onion fabulous in salads Blanca Gruesa de Fuentes is a Spanish heirloom variety of onion that stands out for its robust growth and sturdy leaves. This medium late variety produces large, round shape pale white onion bulbs, quite firm and sweet that can weight up to 500g. After germination allow the seedlings to get to about 10cm tall before transplanting when the seedlings have reached 15/20 cm and thin to the required spacing. Apply manure. The roots do not like to be disturbed so it is advised to transplant with caution. The first harvest should happen in April. When the onions are harvested, they can be dried out and stored for winter.
