The inaugural work from Kartel Studio The Royal & The Bridge is the first original work in The St Andrews Collection—a series of individually hand-painted watches inspired by the town where Kartel began. The dial captures two of the most recognisable landmarks in golf: the Swilcan Bridge and the Royal & Ancient Clubhouse, set beneath an expressive Scottish sky. Every dial is painted individually by hand in St Andrews. Although each follows the same original composition, the movement of the brush, texture of the paint and character of the sky make every watch subtly different. No two are exactly alike. One of only eighteen The Royal & The Bridge is limited to just eighteen individually numbered watches. Once the final dial has been painted, the work will be permanently retired and entered into the Kartel Studio archive. It will never be reproduced as another edition. Each watch is individually numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Painted in St Andrews The artwork is built directly onto the dial using miniature brushes, with colour and texture applied gradually in fine layers. Once the painting is complete, the dial is carefully installed within the automatic watch, inspected and prepared for its owner at Kartel Studio in St Andrews.
