The active sherry cask provides a natural counterpoint to Laphroaig's powerful coastal spirit, adding dried fruit and sweetness while leaving its iodine, smoke and maritime character firmly intact. Produced at Laphroaig Distillery, this is a whisky that makes no attempt to disguise its origins. The nose is immediately medicinal, opening with iodine and brine before revealing weathered driftwood, camphor and salty rock pools. Preserved lemon brings a sharp citrus lift, while sea spray reinforces the distinctly coastal character. On the palate, the whisky becomes beautifully rounded and mouth-coating.
