This is a working tape, not a release. A Maxell MS-60 studio cassette in an Electric Lady Studios J-card—the New York studio’s name and West Eighth Street address printed down the spine—with its shell label typed “Depeche Mode Original Demos” and marked “M.G.” AudioMediaGrading, which graded and sealed it, catalogs it as an original demo compilation and studio reference cassette from circa 1996, and titles it as the band’s Ultra demos.The J-card lists four titles on the A side, typed in the same face as the shell label: “Useless,” “Will,” “No Good,” and “Not One.” The B side is left blank. “Useless” shares its title with a song on Ultra, released in April 1997, and “No Good” with “It’s No Good,” the album’s second single.
