Hebe 'New Zealand Gold'

Hebe ‘New Zealand Gold’ is a bright, evergreen shrub that brings golden foliage right through the year—an easy way to lift borders and containers without waiting for flowers. It stays compact and rounded, so it’s a simple “plug-in” plant wherever you want dependable colour. It’s excellent for adding contrast: golden foliage looks fantastic beside darker evergreens, purple-leaved shrubs, or even simple green grasses. Use it in pots for a cheerful splash near the house, or repeat it along a border edge to create a steady ribbon of colour that doesn’t fade as the seasons change. Grow it in sun or semi shade, in most soils (chalk, clay, loam or sand), and it prefers neutral to alkaline conditions. It’s very hardy and very compact, which makes it easy to place and easy to keep looking neat. A quick trim if needed is plenty—most years it will behave beautifully on its own.
