Heritage & Design The Rolex Submariner has been a defining model in luxury sports watchmaking since its introduction in 1953. The Ref. 16610 is recognised for its classic 40mm proportions and traditional pre-ceramic design, representing one of the most established generations of the Submariner. Its aluminium bezel and understated styling have made it increasingly appealing to collectors seeking a classic Rolex sports watch. Case & Details This Submariner Date features a 40mm stainless steel Oyster case with a unidirectional rotating bezel and black aluminium insert. Its gloss black dial features applied luminous hour markers and a date display at 3 o’clock, enhanced by Rolex’s Cyclops magnifier. A sapphire crystal and stainless steel Oyster bracelet complete the design. Movement & Provenance Powered by the Rolex calibre 3135 automatic movement, offering an approximately 48-hour power reserve. Presented in excellent condition with some original protective stickers still present, this example is offered with box, papers, red seal tag and its original bezel protector, circa 2006. As with all vintage timepieces, we do not recommend wearing this watch in or around water, regardless of its original water resistance rating.
