AIGUAMOLLS

This work, titled "Aiguamolls" (Wetlands), presents a natural landscape inspired by the Empordà Wetlands, rendered from an abstract expressionist perspective and using fields of color. It is one of the most daring pieces in the "on paper" collection in its use of saturated color. This is an interesting work that lies between expressionist landscape painting and geometric abstraction. It has a vibrant energy and a freedom of line that speaks volumes about the emotional intention I had in creating it. In the foreground vegetation and the mountains, I have used scraped strokes and dry textures that add plastic richness to the paper's surface.
