Beginner Spindle Spinning: From Fiber to Yarn Discover the joy of making your own yarn! This two-session beginner class introduces spindle spinning, with guided practice to help you get comfortable turning soft fiber into yarn. Dates: Saturdays, November 7 & November 14, 2026 Time: 2:30–4:30 PM both days Location: Creator’s Corner, 696 Rue Saint Ferdinand, Florissant, MO 63031 Cost: $50 per person—includes both sessions, a spindle, and fiber! Session 1 — November 7: Getting Started Get familiar with fiber roving and spindles. Explore drafting techniques and working with color. Understand S and Z twist. Practice spinning, repairing breaks, and pausing your work. Learn about resting yarn and explore art yarns. Session 2 — November 14: Plying & Finishing Explore singles, two-ply, and chain/cable techniques. Learn how to wash and finish your yarn. Discover how to use a niddy noddy to wind yarn into a skein. No experience needed! Take home your spindle and remaining fiber to keep practicing. Please plan to attend both sessions.
