This is an intentional design feature — those guards are what ensure leak protection — but it is useful to know in advance when choosing the right size. How to increase absorbency For heavy wetters or overnight use, you can add an extra bamboo or hemp booster (available separately in the Happy Bear range) to increase absorbency without changing the diaper. For feces, use the convenient disposable bamboo liners instead: after changing, simply remove and dispose of them. Use & care tips 🧺 Washing: 40–60°C. Fasten the Velcro inward before washing to prevent it from catching on other garments. ❌ Do not tumble dry — heat can damage the elastic and the waterproof polyurethane layer. ❌ Do not use fabric softener — it leaves residue on the fabric that reduces absorbency over time. 🌦️ Drying: air-dry outdoors, preferably in the sun. Sunlight naturally sanitizes and helps maintain the colors. 💧 Break-in: bamboo diapers reach maximum absorbency after approximately 10 washes. Rinse 2–3 times before first use.
