Sneeboer Pointed Spade with Steps

The first one of these pointed spades that we sold went to a grave digger at a green burial site in the Scottish Highlands. We obviously met him when we had a stand at the Goodwood Revival.... Their use isn't limited to squaring up the corners of a grave. The sharp head shape is a larger version of the Sneeboer Perennial spade. Being flat means it's as useful for splitting perennials as it is for digging. The pointed profile is also useful for digging in heavier soils. It has an overall length of 120cm and weighs 1.6Kg. Stainless steel head with Ash handle. Hand forged by Sneeboer in the Netherlands, who have been making and developing garden tools since 1913. Now in the hands of 5th generation family members, Sneeboer use stainless steel to craft the ultimate tools for gardeners. Their tools are the anthesis of the cheap throw away culture. Built to last a lifetime and to be maintain in order to continue to perform like new. As this item is hand forged please expect to see some hammer marks and black coke marks on the surface.
