Crème brûlée & Cocoa powder Roast: Medium Process: Washed Origin: San Marcos, Guatemala Altitude: 1250 masl Cooperative Entre Ríos was founded in 2009 by a group of smallholder farmers within the San Marcos region of Guatemala. These farmers were like minded and shared commitment to collaboration, quality, and long-term sustainability. Initially the group was operating within a larger organization, then made the pivotal decision to become fully independent in 2018. New leadership was elected and certification was secured to further transform their cooperative. In that same year a transformative partnership with Los Volcanes Coffee provided the stability they needed to move even further forward. As the cooperative’s exclusive buyer, Los Volcanes Coffee has ensured consistent market access and fair opportunity for its members. Since 2019, all of Cooperative Entre Ríos’ production has been successfully sold through this partnership, providing much-needed stability and growth while ensuring the cooperative thrives and the hard work of its members is rewarded.
