Grow Genius Mono-Silicic Acid 40%
Grow Genius 40% Mono-Silicic Acid — Happy Hydro Stronger cell walls and real pest and disease resistance, one drop at a time Silicon makes plants physically tougher: stiffer stems, harder leaf surfaces, and stronger resistance to fungal disease, sap-feeding pests, and heat or drought stress. The problem is that plants can only take silicon up as mono-silicic acid, and most "silica" products are silicates that need weeks of root chemistry to convert first. Grow Genius delivers the mono-silicic form directly at 40% w/w: pH neutral, reservoir stable, and working the moment it reaches the plant. One drop per liter, hundreds of gallons per bottle, no pH juggling. 40% w/w mono-silicic acid pH neutral, no adjustment For soil, coco and hydro Free shipping on orders over $49 30-day returns on all orders Serving growers since 2006 Why it's different Silicate "silica" products vs. Grow Genius mono-silicic acid Silicate "Silica" Products Root chemistry has to convert it to mono-silicic acid first, which takes energy and weeks Highly alkaline, so every mix needs pH-down correction Can gel and settle, clogging drippers and reservoir valves Low concentration means large doses and heavy bottles Salt-based, so it adds to your EC and can build up in the root zone Foliar coverage alone gives limited plant-wide benefit Grow Genius 40% Mono Already in the mono-silicic form plants absorb, so it works on contact pH neutral, drops straight into the mix with no correction Stays in solution and holds in a reservoir for up to 7 days 40% w/w, so you dose 0.3 ml per 10 liters, by the drop Trace dose adds almost nothing to your EC or soil load Works foliar alone, because it never needs converting first Why mono-silicic acid works immediately, and silicates don't Plants can only pull silicon out of solution in one specific chemical form: mono-silicic acid, Si(OH)₄. Every other silicon product on the shelf, potassium silicate and the "Silica" bottles included, is a silicate. Before the plant can use a silicate, its own root chemistry has to convert it into mono-silicic acid, and that conversion burns energy and takes weeks. Grow Genius skips that entirely by supplying the mono form directly, so it is 100% plant-available the moment it hits the root zone or leaf surface. The reason most "stabilized" mono products are weak is chemistry: a water-based mono-silicic solution re-polymerizes back into silicate above roughly 4%. Grow Genius holds its mono form stable at 40% w/w (21% elemental Si) using a small amount of ethanol as the carrier, which then biodegrades rapidly once it is diluted into your mix. Because the product is so concentrated, the actual amount added to your soil is tiny, about 0.03 ml per liter of solution. Once absorbed, the silicon deposits into cell walls and the leaf cuticle, stiffening tissue and building the physical barrier that drives the pest, pathogen, and stress resistance. What makes it different Concentrated, immediate, and easy to run 40% w/w, the exact form plants use 0.3 ml per 10 L Guaranteed delivery of over 40% mono-silicic acid by weight and 21% elemental silicon. That concentration is why you dose by the drop instead of the capful, and why a small bottle lasts most home growers a full season. pH neutral and reservoir stable for 7 days It drops into an AutoPot res, a nutrient tank, or a hand-watering jug without shifting your pH, and it holds its form in the reservoir for up to a week rather than gelling out like silicates. Harder tissue against fungal disease Silicon reinforcing the leaf cuticle gives powdery mildew, botrytis, and black spot a tougher surface to get through. Growers use it as part of a preventative program to lean on fungicides less. Tougher against pests and stress Stiffer cell walls make it physically harder for thrips, mites, and aphids to pierce and feed. The same rigidity helps plants hold up to heat, drought, wind, and the shock of heavy pruning. Works through the roots or as a foliar Root feeding biases silicon toward the plant's interior and foliar biases it toward the leaves, so doing both is ideal. If you can only do one, either route still delivers plant-wide benefit on its own. One small bottle goes a very long way 880 gal from 100 ml A 100 ml bottle mixes roughly 880 gallons of root feed or 53 gallons of foliar spray. Less concentrate to buy, ship, and store, and far less packaging per gallon treated. Specs Numbers and details Silicon Content 21% Si · over 40% mono-silicic acid w/w Active Form Mono-silicic acid, Si(OH)₄ pH Neutral, no adjustment required Reservoir Stability Up to 7 days Root / Feed Rate 0.3 ml per 10 L, weekly Foliar Rate 0.5 ml per L, every 2 weeks Biodegradability 95% over 28 days (OECD 301F) Origin Made in the UK, silicon from Scotland Handling note: the concentrate contains ethanol and silicon and is safe for plants when used as directed, but not for skin, eyes, or ingestion. Wear gloves and eye protection, avoid breathing any spray mist, and close the bottle tightly right after use, since any water getting in will make the product re-polymerize. See the product label and MSDS for full handling and safety information. How to use it: measured by the drop 1 Measure with a pipette Draw 0.3 ml per 10 liters for root feeding, or 0.5 ml per liter for a foliar spray. A pipette or small syringe makes doses this small accurate. 2 Add it last, after your other nutrients Mix your feed first, then add Grow Genius and stir well. Adding it last keeps foaming down, especially in soft or reverse-osmosis water. 3 Feed weekly, or spray every two weeks Run it from propagation through to a few weeks before harvest. Stop foliar spraying at early flower on dense-flowered plants, and never spray under full lights, in strong sun, or over 86°F. 4 Seal it up and store it dry Cap the bottle tightly right away, since the ethanol carrier evaporates fast and any water or dirt getting in will spoil it. Keep it somewhere cool and dry between uses. One or two home reservoirs are usually set for a full season on the 100 ml. If you run multiple rooms or a larger commercial setup, the 500 ml or 1 L is the better value per gallon. Most "silica" products are potassium silicate, which your plant has to convert into mono-silicic acid before it can use any of it. This is already in that final form, so it is available on contact instead of days or weeks later. If you switch to this, you can generally drop the silicate product rather than run both. If you would rather keep your current lineup, call us and we'll talk through whether they overlap. Will it clog my AutoPot valves or drip lines? No. The gelling and buildup that fouls valves comes from high-pH silicates dropping out of solution. This stays pH neutral and in solution for up to 7 days in a reservoir, which is exactly why it suits AutoPot and other res-fed systems. Just keep water and dirt out of the concentrate bottle itself, because contamination in the bottle will make the product re-polymerize. How long will a bottle actually last me? Longer than you'd think, because you dose it by the drop. Fed weekly through the roots from propagation to a few weeks before harvest, a 100 ml bottle covers roughly 880 gallons of solution over its life. A home grower running one or two reservoirs usually gets through a full season, often more, on the smallest size. Is it safe for seedlings and clones? Yes. You can use it from seed germination or cutting propagation onward. The recommended rate has a safety margin built in, and any mono-silicic acid the plant doesn't use turns into harmless trace silicates. If you'd rather ease in, there is no downside to using a little less early on. Can I use it with beneficial microbes or predator insects? It is not a registered organic product, but it is compatible with mycorrhizae and bacteria-friendly growing at the rates on the label. Silicon isn't harmful to most beneficial microbes, and because the dose is so small the net addition to your soil is tiny, roughly 0.03 ml per liter of solution. If you release predator mites or other beneficial insects, apply through the roots rather than foliar so you're not spraying them directly. Should I feed it, spray it, or both? Both is ideal, since root feeding biases silicon toward the plant's interior and foliar biases it toward the leaves. What's unusual about the mono form is that a foliar spray alone still gives plant-wide benefit, because it doesn't need converting first. So if you can only do one route, pick whichever fits your setup and you'll still get real results. What if I receive a damaged bottle or it isn't right for my setup?
