Choosing the Right Fishing Rod Sleeve The sleeve measurements listed are the actual length of the sleeve – NOT the recommended fishing rod length. Due to the rod butt thickness and eyelet girth the sleeve length will always be longer than the actual rod. Note: Not suited to beach rods with large wire stripper guides (eg 70mm) To choose the correct size: Measure your fishing rod from the very tip to the end of the butt.
