The fabric comes to us in 5.25 yard pieces so any yardage longer than that has to be cut in multiple pieces. We are obsessed with this beautiful, unique fabric from Merchant & Mills. This layered cotton has a jacquard weave that gives it a quilted look and feel, but the inside of the cloth is filled with cotton yarns instead of batting, giving the fabric just the right amount of squish with great recovery. The reverse is a gauzy cotton, soft and warm to the touch. It is perfect for jackets or vests, or a simple cold-weather dress or smock. If possible we would advise overlocking raw edges before sewing to prevent fraying. There may be some white slubs throughout the cloth, these are not flaws. There may also be color graduation over the piece.
