Summer Sunset, August 2026 Color of the Month

Summer Sunset is the Color of the Month for August 2026! This colorway is dyed by taking the naturally colored yarn and laying colors on top, one at a time, letting the heat set each color before the next is added. This colorway start out with a mixture of Champagne, coral, and rose pink followed by a layer of Orchid, and finally with a layer of Aqualon blue. Since each layer of color is very soft, I repeated the same combination on the back side of the yarn. And then to finish it off I hit it with a layer of champagne mixed with orange and rose pink. This limited edition coloway is a variegated kettle dyed colorway with short pops of color that creates lots of depth of color without any significant pooling. Summer Sunset is a very soft colorway but with so many layers of color! Summer Sunset will be available throughout the month of August on Nimble Sock, Plush Single, and Plush DK. Superwash yarn is technically machine washable in a gentle cycle with like colors, I do however recommend hand washing your knits made with superwash yarn as the washer will tug and pull at your knits causing them to lose their shape or worse rip. I was my knits in the sink using luke warm water and Long Winter Farm Sweater Soap. This soap has lanolin in it which protects the natural fibers. I spot wash any stains and allow my sweater to soak for approximately 30 minutes. Rinse your sweater with cool water if necessary and them gently wring out any extra water, I use my top load washer spin cycle this this, but you can use a towel as well. After the excess water is removed, lay your garment flat to air dry. This fiber was handdyed by ontheround using professional quality acid dyes. I dye my yarn in small batches and no skein will be 100% the same- that's what makes working with hand dyed yarn so fun!
