Sterbai Corydoras (Corydoras sterbai)

Known for their striking orange pectoral fins and intricate white-on-black spotting, these catfish are a staple for any community tank looking for life at the bottom. They are hardier than many of their cousins and feel most secure when kept in groups of six or more. You will often see them schooling together or darting up to the surface for a quick gulp of air. Unlike some sensitive bottom-dwellers, they tolerate slightly warmer water, making them perfect companions for Discus or tropical dwarf cichlids. A sandy substrate is essential to protect their delicate barbels as they sift for food. Prefers soft, sandy substrate to prevent barbel erosion. Thrives in temperatures between 75°F and 82°F. Social species that requires a group to reduce stress. Accepts high-quality sinking pellets, wafers, and frozen bloodworms.
