What is the difference between the long and short rod options? The direction they run. Long rods run the 48-inch length, short rods run across the 40-inch width. Rods do the most good when they run the same way as the unsupported span in your rack, so they are bridging the gap between beams. In a standard rack with the 40-inch edge on the beams, short rods carry the load. Tell us your rack orientation and we will spec it correctly. Why would I choose 10 rods? Maximum stiffness. Ten rods is for the heaviest loads this pallet handles, loads that concentrate weight in the middle, or long unsupported runs on a conveyor. It is also the most expensive configuration, so if you are reaching for it regularly it is usually cheaper overall to buy the heavy duty pallet instead.
