Bleeding Control Incident Bag

This mid-sized bleeding control kit bridges the gap between smaller kits intended for one or two casualties and larger major incident bleeding control kits. It is designed for premises where a first aid needs assessment or security risk assessment identifies the possibility of several people sustaining serious bleeding injuries. Suitable locations may include shopping centres, schools, colleges, entertainment venues, transport hubs, public buildings, large workplaces and multi-storey premises. The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law, requires certain publicly accessible premises and events to prepare for terrorist attacks and take appropriate steps to reduce the risk of physical harm. Bleeding control equipment may form part of a wider emergency preparedness plan, alongside staff training, communication procedures, evacuation, invacuation and lockdown arrangements. The equipment selected, its location and the number of kits required should be based on the premises-specific risk assessment and emergency plan.
