Red Columbine – PLUGS

Early-blooming woodland perennial, typically 1-3 ft tall, with nodding red-and-yellow flowers for part shade, rocky slopes, and dry-to-mesic woodland edges. Larval host for the Columbine Duskywing and an early nectar source for hummingbirds, bumblebees, and other long-tongued insects. Allow light self-seeding, leave some basal leaf litter for overwintering larvae, and cut back declining foliage after bloom if needed.
