Yuan Bao Red Parrot (Hybrid Cichlid) A bold, compact-bodied parrot cichlid with intense red colour and plenty of personality The Yuan Bao Red Parrot is a selectively bred form of Blood Parrot Cichlid recognised for its particularly short, rounded body shape, which resembles the traditional Chinese yuanbao gold ingot. These hybrid cichlids develop vibrant orange-red to deep red colouration and have a distinctive chunky appearance that sets them apart from standard Blood Parrots. Intelligent, interactive, and full of character, Yuan Bao Red Parrots make excellent centrepiece fish for larger freshwater aquariums. They appreciate plenty of swimming space, strong filtration, and sturdy décor that provides territories without restricting movement. They can be somewhat territorial but are generally suitable with similarly sized, robust fish when given adequate space.
