Pair of Unique Wrought Iron Dragon Fire Dogs. Mid-20th century.

There is something quite special about these poised andirons, both serene and aggressive in their portrayal of two sneering dragons with necks recoiled and twisted rings clenched in their mouths. Gorgeously well made, hand crafted in wrought iron, every detail holding some inexplicable tension from every twist and hammer blow landed in the hot smithy. Overall in fantastic condition, likely made in the mid-late 20th century as evidenced by the use of more modern tools in places. Absolutely striking pieces all the same, and quite possibly unique.
