Morganites are the lesser known sister in the glittering Beryl family, her famous sisters are Emerald and Aquamarine, and part of what has held Morganites back a little is that they are relative newcomers to the canon of known gemstones. They were named for financier JP Morgan upon their discovery in 1910, and have made huge strides in the last few years, becoming very sought after.
