Produced to represent the iconic blue and orange Gulf Oil Ford GT40 livery of the J. W Automotive Engineering team and winner of the 1968 24 Hours Of Le Mans with drivers Pedro Rodriguez and Lucien Bianchi. This sculpture is a version of the original ‘racing mako’ and captures the racing-look of the fastest shark in our oceans. Selected parts and materials used in this sculpture are from modern Grand Prix cars as listed below. Sculpture limited to 20 pieces. Body: Carbon fibre 2 x 2 twill 200 gsm coated with UV resistant clear coating and painted detail. Dorsal and underside fins: 0.5 mm photo etched stainless steel coated silver. Tail and pectoral fins: 0.5 mm photo etched stainless steel coated silver. Marking detail: Custom designed Gulf Ford GT40 vinyl transfer. Teeth: Printed chrome on black decal. Mounting base and rod: Mounted on a black coated wooden base with orange Firestone tyre ID logo and a gold locking spline insert from a modern Formula One GP car. Mounting method: Desk mounted. Dimensions: L 290 mm 130 mm on base 240 mm on base.
