The Voyage 1929 pattern illustrates a journey around the world made by Emma’s ancestors in 1929. The inspiration for the design comes from photographs and diaries preserved from their travels. A journey around the world almost a hundred years ago must have been very different from travelling today. Among the places they visited were two locations in Japan that Emma herself would visit almost a century later. It is fascinating to think that the desire to discover the same places can live on through generations.
