Dumpster Diver

Based on streamer-junky Ivan Miller’s now out-of-production Dirty Dumpster, Blue Line’s Dumpster takes the best of slim, dumbbell head articulated streamers and adds a Blue Line twist. The Dumpster is trash, but not in the bad sense. It’s trash in the way a half-court made in just before the buzzer is trash – bad basketball? Maybe. Beautiful chaos? Absolutely. This fly swims and mildly jigs, for its versatility includes large trout and bass, so its presentation has range. The Dumpster isn’t a sexy looking fly, but it sure fishes like it is. Any Blue Line Fly could hook a giant fish, but for those anglers who obsess over giant brown trout to the point of losing sleep, this one has to be in your top three. The original by Ivan Miller is known as a big fish hunting magnet. Use a floating streamer line to shallow jig and swim this fly around rocks and logs. Use a sinkling line to get it to the bottom of holes and troughs. Stiff 6 or any 7+ weight rod.
