Dansons PL350H Compact Hydraulic Patient Lift – 350 lb Capacity
Dansons PL350H No battery, no charging, no waiting between transfers The PL350H is the hydraulic build of Dansons Medical's compact patient lift: the same 350 lb capacity, the same 17.5″ to 64.7″ lift range and the same 23″ closed base that clears a standard doorway — raised by a hand-pumped hydraulic cylinder instead of an electric actuator. That trade is worth understanding before you choose. A hydraulic lift asks the caregiver for physical effort on the pump handle. In return there is no battery to charge or replace, no duty cycle to work around, and nothing that stops working in a power cut. For a household doing two or three transfers a day it is the simpler machine — and it can be upgraded to electric later if that changes. Who it's for Home care households and family caregivers who want a lift that always works and never needs charging. Also a sound choice where power is unreliable, or where a facility wants a backup lift that sits idle for weeks without a flat battery. Control A pump handle raises the boom; a release knob lowers it, with the knob controlling descent speed. Base legs open and close on foot pedals, so both hands stay on the client. No cables, no charger, no hand control to misplace. Where it fits A 23″ closed base clears standard interior doorways and opens to 33.9″ around a bed, chair or commode. Dual-wheel front casters and braked rear casters roll on carpet and over thresholds rather than fighting them. Hydraulic or electric Two builds of the same lift This is the hydraulic PL350H. The PL350 is the electric build — identical frame, capacity, footprint and lift range, but raised at the press of a button rather than by hand. Choose electric if the caregiver has limited strength, if transfers happen many times a day, or if the person being lifted needs an especially smooth ascent. Choose hydraulic if you want fewer things that can fail and nothing to keep charged. You are not locked in either way. An electronic upgrade kit converts the PL350H to powered operation later — ask us if you would like that quoted alongside the lift. Features 01 · Reach & Footprint 350 lb, 17.5″ to 64.7″, in a 23″ frame A 350 lb maximum lifting capacity across a range that reaches down to 17.5″. That low figure is what matters after a fall — it lets the lift reach a client on the floor, which is precisely the situation where a caregiver is most likely to injure themselves attempting it manually. At the top of its travel it reaches 64.7″, clearing most bed and chair heights. Most patient lifts are bought for a house that was never designed around one. A 23″ closed base clears standard interior doorways, so the lift travels between bedroom and bathroom rather than living in one room. Opened to 33.9″ it straddles a bed frame, armchair or commode, and maintenance-free dual-wheel casters at the front with braked casters at the rear roll over carpet and thresholds without snagging. 350 lb capacity 17.5″ – 64.7″ 23″ closed / 33.9″ open Floor pick-up capable 02 · Hydraulic Operation Pump to raise, release knob to lower — and nothing to charge The boom is raised by pumping a handle and lowered by turning a release knob — and the knob is the detail that matters. It controls the speed of descent, so the caregiver eases the client down rather than dropping them. Turn it slowly, and turn it back clockwise to stop. It takes a few practice runs to develop the feel, which is exactly why the manufacturer says to rehearse the lift before using it on anyone. The base legs open and close on foot pedals, keeping both hands free. An electric lift runs a duty cycle — a limit on how long the motor can work before it needs to rest. A hydraulic lift has no such limit, and no battery to charge, run flat or replace. It works in a power cut, works after months in a cupboard, and has fewer components that can fail. The honest trade is effort: raising the boom is physical work, so consider who will be operating it day to day. Hand-pumped hydraulic Speed-controlled descent No battery No duty cycle limit 03 · Sling & Attachment A full-body sling, included A universal mesh sling with head support ships with the lift in Small, Medium or Large — full-body, so the client is supported from head to toe rather than left with an unsupported neck through the transfer. The 4-point spreader bar takes 4, 6 and 8-strap slings, and 2-point and 6-point bars are available if your existing slings need one. Free sling included 4-point spreader bar Head support 04 · Safety & Working Limits Before you use it Maximum lifting capacity is 350 lb (160 kg). This is the limit for the whole system — the included slings are rated higher, but the lift's 350 lb rating always governs. The release knob controls descent speed. Lowering the piston too fast can cause serious injury. Turn the knob slowly counter-clockwise until the boom begins to move, and clockwise to stop. Dansons directs that no transfer be attempted without prior approval from the person's nurse, and that the sling be chosen together with the patient's doctor, nurse or medical attendant. Read the owner's manual in full and practise the lift several times before transferring anyone. Inspect the sling for fraying, worn stitching or damaged straps before every use. Warranty runs 3 years on the lift frame and spreader bar, 2 years on casters and parts, and 1 year on the hydraulic pump. Reusable slings are covered 6 months. It applies to the original purchaser only. This equipment should be used in line with guidance from the client's physician, occupational therapist or other qualified healthcare professional. Lowering the client: the release knob controls descent speed, and the manufacturer warns that lowering the piston too fast can cause serious injury. Turn the knob slowly counter-clockwise until the boom begins to move, and clockwise to stop. Practise this several times before performing a transfer. Warranty: covers defects in workmanship and product performance. It extends only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable, and claims require proof of sale and the serial number. Excluded: misuse, accidental or malicious damage, improper installation, use with incompatible parts, neglect, failure to maintain the product as the manual specifies, a removed or defaced serial number, and normal wear and tear.
