In Salinha, Wilame Lima builds an interior through layers of acrylic that soften the distinction between architectural structure, reflected light, and shadow. A small, luminous central form remains partially legible within the darker blue-green field, while the surrounding surface holds the image in suspension. The painting’s compact scale intensifies this compression: the room appears less as a fully described setting than as an image reduced to fragments, tonal intervals, and traces of spatial depth. Part of the Apocalypse series, the work extends Lima’s interest in images that emerge through veiling, interruption, and the gradual loss of descriptive certainty.
