Variegated Orange — Ruby Flame™

Ruby Flame Orange™ — A Flying Dragon Exclusive Ruby Flame is a very special orange, and one we're incredibly proud of. Discovered right here at our nursery as a chance sport of a navel orange, it took us nearly three years of trials and careful selection to bring this variety to life. Ruby Flame is the first variegated orange of its kind offered in New Zealand. The soft green foliage is edged in cream, giving the whole tree a silvery, luminous look in the garden. The fruit is just as striking, the young fruit carries variegated striping on the rind, ripening to a warm golden yellow. Cut one open and you'll find rich ruby-pink flesh that's low in acid, sweet and gentle, with a thin rind. This is truly one of the most ornamental citrus trees you can grow, and a generous producer too. While your young tree is establishing, we recommend thinning the fruit to help it put its energy into strong growth.
