The Kiss explores the fragility of memory through archival imagery, cyanotype chemistry, and botanical dyeing. Featuring a faded embrace suspended within a landscape of clouds and atmospheric textures, the garment captures a fleeting moment and transforms it into a permanent artifact. Created using the historic cyanotype process, the piece is first exposed to light and then slowly toned using a combination of tannic acid and natural madder root, resulting in a soft palette of ash, mauve, and earth tones. The layered toning process softens the original cyanotype blue, creating depth, texture, and an aged patina that cannot be reproduced mechanically. The relaxed muscle tank silhouette serves as a canvas for the artwork, allowing the imagery to emerge gradually through movement, wear, and light.
