How to Check Your M-Tronic Version: Version 3.0+ saws typically have a manufacture date of 2019 or later. You can also check the control module part number or consult a STIHL dealer for confirmation. Outlet Direction (Facing Bar or Facing Recoil):Facing Bar means the exhaust outlet points toward the guide bar side of the saw. Facing Recoil means it points toward the pull-start side. This is strictly operator preference and has no effect on performance.
