Langhe Nebbiolo 2025 Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno
750 mL | Alcohol/Vol: 14% The Borgogno family has made wine in the heart of the Barolo region since 1897, now in its fourth and fifth generations. The estate's vineyards sit on the famed Cannubi hill, just outside the town of Barolo, where Nebbiolo from younger vines (that would otherwise produce Barolo itself) goes into this more approachable, earlier-drinking Langhe expression. Ruby-red with garnet edges, the wine opens with fragrant notes of sour cherry, pomegranate, and rosehip, layered with subtle anise, dried mint, and crushed stone. On the palate it shows lift and definition, with high-toned red fruit, firm yet polished tannins, and a fine line of salinity and acidity through a long, detailed finish. A true entry point into Barolo terroir at a fraction of the price — best alongside savoury, umami-rich dishes or classic Piedmontese fare.
