Project: ClubSound

A tightly curated bass music sample pack for the next wave of club music. It draws on the UK sound system tradition through dubstep and UK funky, and pushes it into Global South club rhythms led by baile funk, with log drums and percussion borrowed from amapiano. Project: ClubSound captures club music through the lens of dubstep, UK funky, and baile funk. The flavor of sound system culture, community, culture, danceability, combined with the groove and finesse of Global South movements gives this pack a character no other library has. Simply put: we wanted to make a pack that fits anyone's idea of fun music. The sound is new-age dubstep that keeps the authentic patterns intact while the timbre and sound design go somewhere genuinely new. The drums are futuristic, robotic, and punchy, with real weight. The basses and melodics are authentically captured. To make something truly new, we curated the people before the samples. We worked with sound designers carrying over 30 years of lived experience in UK sound system culture, alongside young producers pushing sound design past anything we've heard. Both groups got the same brief, the same references, the same world to build within. The result is something familiar that has never existed and that shifted our whole focus from production techniques to curating the talent that makes those techniques work. As one of our sound designers put it: "the pack has a really good zoomed-out view of what is happening within UK sound system and club culture without being zoomed in too much onto one specific thing, it's laterally moving over the surface of the whole culture, pushing stuff to be as expressive as possible within that framework." What started as a cultural compilation of UK funky, baile funk, and amapiano turned into something more tailored to bass music and club music than anything we've made before. The pack is ultra-curated, authentically new and newly authentic, while staying vast enough to reward cratedigging. The Serum 2 presets cut everything non-essential and focus on one job: pushing the boundaries of bass, percussion, and FX sound design. This is UK sound system culture meeting global club movements with a leftfield approach to sound design. Whatever you produce, there's something here for you.
