The process begins with underglaze painting followed by firing at 1,300°C; next, traditional colored enamels (such as red, green, blue, and yellow) are applied and fired at 800°C; finally, gold accents are added to create the decorative patterns. Because the piece is fired separately for each color application, the creation of a single work involves five to ten firing cycles. The result is a magnificent, dignified style that combines brilliant gold decoration with inventive color schemes and layouts.
