Named after Iris co-founder Dale Fairbanks (Fairbanks Guitars), the DF is a slope-shouldered dreadnought modeled closely after depression-era guitars coming out of Kalamazoo in the mid-to-late '30s. The result is a guitar that carries an unmistakable depression-era character, delivering grit, warmth, and funk in equal measure, with the dry, woody responsiveness that made those early instruments so revered.
