Lagenandra Bleeding Heart – Rare Aquarium Plant Lagenandra Bleeding Heart is a striking and uncommon aquarium plant prized for its broad, textured leaves and rich green to bronze tones. Its distinctive foliage makes it an excellent feature plant for planted aquariums, especially in the midground or around driftwood and rockwork. Australian grown and supplied submerged, Lagenandra Bleeding Heart adapts well to established freshwater aquariums. Similar in care to Cryptocoryne, it is a relatively slow-growing plant that prefers stable conditions and develops into an impressive, compact specimen over time. Lagenandra Bleeding Heart Care Scientific Name: Lagenandra sp. ‘Bleeding Heart’ Difficulty: Easy–Moderate Placement: Midground / Foreground feature Lighting: Low–Medium CO₂: Not essential, but beneficial Growth Rate: Slow–Moderate Temperature: Approx. 22–28°C Propagation: Rhizome division / offsets Supply Size: Approx. 1–2 cm rhizome with 4–6 leaves Grown: Submerged in Australia Like Anubias and Bucephalandra, avoid burying the rhizome completely beneath the substrate.
