El Obraje

Pablo Andres Guerrero operates Hacienda El Obraje in Tangua, outside Pasto in Colombia's Nariño department, at 2,200 meters. Initially he trained as an architect before coming back to the generational family farm. Pablo has converted much of the nearly 100-hectare estate into forest reserve, cultivating coffee on roughly 25 hectares. On the farm the daily temperatures swing from 90 degrees at midday to 45 degrees or lower at night, producing dense, compact trees.
