Family Style #10
228 x 300 mm, 224 pages New York, US Quarterly First published in 2024 Founder and editor-in-chief: Joshua Glass Design directors: Maria and Rafaela Echeverri ‘A three course meal as a magazine’ Family Style describes itself as ‘a fantasy dinner party in the form of an arts and culture journal.’ While the name is borrowed most obviously from the style of shared eating, it is also inspired by the congregation of a shared discourse. For its tenth issue, Family Style interrogates the theme of ‘Man vs. Machine’, leaning into an alternative definition of machinery, as editor-in-chief Joshua Glass asserts: ‘Industries, for one, are machines. As are societal labels; gender constructs, too’ On the covers: model and vintage shop owner Stephanie Cavalli, photographed by Estelle Hanania, artwork from multi-media and installation artist Rachel Rossin, and model Luca Gajdus, shot by Ana-Roque. As ever, the issue is cleverly divided into three sections—Aperitivo, Dinner Service, and Something Sweet. family.style
