DB9W, White Gold

A ref. DB9W, an exceedingly rare early, manual, two-handed, and 9.2mm thin classical expression. The DB9 was made in only 9 examples in this white gold and only 19 examples across all metals. Its case features the 'bullet' lugs distinctive of De Bethune's early years, where the brand proudly began stating 'to compose contemporary music, you must first command classical music'. The hand-guilloché dial features a cleverly-designed power reserve at 12, which is in fact not a Moonphase. Early De Bethune remains outside the spotlight today, but offers some of the most unabashed, strongly proportioned clarity that only the early-2000s mind of Denis Flageollet could have conceived.
