BC Garn Tussah Tweed // 3ply light fingering

Tussah Tweed is a beautiful, luxurious, soft yarn with fine tweed nepsies and a very interesting stitch definition, and a fine mottling. Also known as Wild Silk, it is very strong. It is processed from the cocoons of wild butterflies which are allowed to flee the cocoon before it is processed into silk. Thus Tussah Tweed can be called a “cruelty-free silk”. Tussah Tweed is available in many beautiful colours and is very versatile, not only for hand knitting but also for machine knitting. Due to the incredible strength of silk fibres this yarn also works beautifully in weaving, embroidery and lace.
