Untitled (Sketch for Tigerbob Charm Packs) // Cashmere Tapestry

Expanding on Gossamer's larger-scale intarsia-knit tapestries made in 2024, "Untitled (Sketch for Tigerbob Charm Packs)" pushes the limits of hand-powered mark-making in knitted formats. This series of work is called "Intarsiacore." The intarsia knitting process becomes similar to woven tapestry knitting techniques, where each block of colored yarn is placed over the needles and knit-in one row at a time. The tapestry took over two months to complete. This piece was originally designed in Adobe Photoshop and served as the basis for designing the algorithm for digital outputs produced in Tigerbob Charm Packs. The design deconstructs and reassembles Gossamer's pixel art into small repeating tiles arranged on a larger grid. Each output is deterministic.
