Bespoke shoes by 6x4 종 나막신 Namakshin with bells Namakshin (traditional Korean rain shoes) with sand cast bells made from recycled brass. Cord made from Tī Kouka fibre extracted under guidance from Louie Zalk-Neale. Nubuck uppers and insoles. Uppers and wooden sole dyed with Traditional Korean indigo paste made by 정찬희 Chanhee Jung. Wooden soles made from recycled timber (most likely Kahikatea or Miro). Hand hammered brass fish motif. CARE: These shoes are artworks: take extreme caution if you are going to wear them. Only wear on hard, completely even surfaces. Responsibility to prevent injury lies with the wearer. Indigo pigment may transfer to skin, lighter fabrics and surfaces. Indigo may rub off wooden soles with wear and as they are struck with the bells. These shoes have been worn in a performance: the marks of the bell strikes and signs of wear are part of this artwork. The bells are suspended on a cord made from natural fibre that is susceptible to wear. With repeated swinging this cord may wear down and break. Maintain the nubuck with a neutral leather cream or conditioner. Maintain the wood with a clear wood wax. Do not wear in wet conditions. If the shoes come in contact with water, immediately absorb with a towel and leave in a warm, dry, dark place.
