Kings & Queens - Hard to Handle
KINGS & QUEENS - HARD TO HANDLE Marilyn Monroe was more than the image the world was sold. Beneath the glamour and fame was Norma Jean — intelligent, vulnerable, charismatic, and often misunderstood. In Hard to Handle, Martin Osner explores the contrast between public icon and private person through a hand-constructed 3D photographic collage layered with vintage posters, newspaper headlines, candid imagery, and symbolic textures. The assembled artwork was then re-photographed under studio lighting to create real depth, shadow, and atmosphere. The piece reflects both the brilliance and tragedy surrounding Monroe’s life, capturing the tension between celebrity, vulnerability, and enduring legend. Rather than simply celebrating a Hollywood icon, Hard to Handle invites the viewer to look beyond the surface and reconsider the woman behind the myth.
