High-density high-heat-tolerant Firebricks rating 2700 - 2900°F. These bricks weigh 9.5 lbs+ and are dense, affording exceptional performance. Features: Structurally strong and will not melt even at forge metal welding temperatures. Stable under repeated heating cycles. Higher Alumina content than the Clipper DP Super Duty Fireclay Brick. Reasonable porosity and decent slag resistance. Good dimensional stability at elevated temperatures NOTE: Not all firebricks that look the same are the same. In the image below, compare two different, but similar-looking bricks coated and heated for 6 hours with a few ounces of welding flux. Our high-density bricks were fine; the generic bricks, rated to the same heat, were completely deformed and cracked from the Flux. Don't be fooled by appearances and superficial claims. Not all firebricks are the same. Sizes available 9” x 4.5” x 2.5" weighing 9.5 lb. each 9” x 4.5” x 3” weighing 10.85 lb. each Split Bricks (0.5" & 7/8" & 1-1/4" thick) Custom-cut bricks are available on request Tip: Applying ITC 100 HT is a great way to reflect heat away from the brick, into the forge. It prevents the brick from acting as a 'heat sink' as the forge heats up. Sold individually Need Refractory Mortar? Sairset, Resitect, No. 36, Vesuvius No 26, Satanite.
