Flagship ROHM DSD512 DAC The VMV D2R MK2 is a flagship desktop DAC built around the ROHM BD34302EKV conversion platform, paired with a precision 10MHz OCXO clock system, XMOS XU316 USB processing, and a fully-balanced analog stage. Designed for high-resolution playback across USB, AES/EBU, optical, coaxial, Bluetooth, and I²S sources, the D2R MK2 supports PCM up to 768kHz, native DSD512, and full MQA decoding while maintaining ultra-low distortion and low-noise performance. Reference-grade ROHM conversion At the core of the D2R MK2 is the ROHM BD34302EKV DAC chip, selected for its low distortion characteristics and natural tonal balance. The fully-balanced signal path is engineered to preserve low-level detail and channel separation while maintaining stable output performance across both RCA and XLR connections. Balanced THD+N reaches as low as 0.00013% (-117dB). Precision OCXO clock architecture The integrated 10MHz OCXO crystal oscillator is designed to minimize phase noise and timing instability inside the digital audio chain. Rated at ±5ppb frequency stability, the oven-controlled clock reduces jitter caused by temperature fluctuation and timing drift, helping preserve spatial accuracy, transient definition, and image focus. High-resolution digital platform The XMOS XU316 USB processor provides the computing headroom required for modern high-resolution playback formats. USB and I²S inputs support PCM up to 768kHz at 32-bit resolution alongside native DSD512 decoding. Optical, coaxial, and AES/EBU inputs support PCM up to 192kHz and DoP playback. Full MQA and MQA-CD decoding is supported through USB, optical, coaxial, and AES connections. Fully-balanced analog output stage The D2R MK2 uses a fully-balanced circuit topology with dedicated RCA and XLR outputs. The balanced XLR output stage delivers 5.0Vrms while maintaining a dynamic range of 123dB and a signal-to-noise ratio of 123dB. Adaptive linear power supply A Noratel toroidal transformer anchors the linear power supply system, paired with adaptive voltage switching technology for stable operation across varying power environments. Bluetooth and wireless playback The integrated Qualcomm Bluetooth platform supports LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC, and SBC codecs for wireless playback compatibility across modern mobile devices and streamers. LDAC support allows transmission up to 24-bit/96kHz where supported by the source device. Refined chassis and user interface The front panel combines a 1.9-inch fully bonded tempered glass display with a large multifunction control knob and simplified menu navigation. A one-touch “Best Setting” mode allows fast access to optimized playback profiles without navigating complex adjustment menus.
