2022 Piantonaia Merlot

Piantonaia is a 0.5‑hectare single vineyard, high on the Ruffoli hills at 1,100 feet. The sandy, mineral‑rich soils nourishes grapes of astonishing depth and concentration, with yields so low that only 1,400 bottles are made each year. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 18 months in new 225-liter oak barrels. Produced entirely from Merlot grapes grown in a vineyard located on the higher part of the Ruffoli hill in the heart of Chianti Classico. The aromatic impact amazes with its originality, and the palate convinces with its sobriety, delivering sensations of richness, fullness, and amplitude with which its flavours are endowed.
