Waiora Clarity I + Waimana UV 33W Bundle - Whole House Filtration & UV Treatment NZ
Complete whole house filtration and UV treatment for tank and bore water — in one bundle. The Waiora Clarity I handles coarse sediment removal, and the Waimana UV 33W unit treats water against bacteria, viruses, and microbes as it flows through. Together they cover the full treatment sequence: sediment first, then UV. The UV unit's flow-activated design means the lamp only runs when water is moving — no power wasted, no water warming in the chamber between uses. Suited to smaller New Zealand homes on tank or rainwater supply where sediment loads are moderate. Note: bore water quality varies significantly — we recommend testing your bore water before purchasing to ensure this configuration suits your supply. Get in touch and we'll help. Ships as two separate items: the Clarity I filter system and the UV 33W unit arrive independently. What's in the bundle Waiora Clarity I — 10 Inch Single-Stage Whole House Filter Stage 1: 20 micron pleated sediment filter (10" jumbo) — removes coarse sediment, silt, and particles 10" jumbo housing with stainless threaded 25mm BSP ports Powder-coated steel bracket Housing spanner included 3-year warranty Waimana UV 33W — Flow-Activated UV Unit 33W UV chamber with integrated flow switch UV dose: 30 mJ/cm² at 30 L/min Treats water against bacteria, viruses, and microbes without chemicals Flow-activated — lamp runs only when water is flowing Connection: 25mm BSP Includes: UV lamp, quartz sleeve, ballast, flow switch, spring, O-rings 3-year warranty How the system works together Stage 1 — Coarse Sediment (Clarity I) The 20 micron pleated filter removes larger particles, silt, and organic matter. Clear water at this stage is essential for effective UV treatment downstream. Stage 2 — UV Treatment (UV 33W) Water flows through the UV chamber where the 33W lamp treats it against bacteria, viruses, and microbes at a dose of 30 mJ/cm². The flow switch activates the lamp automatically when water moves and shuts it off when flow stops. The sequence matters — sediment filtration before UV ensures clear water enters the chamber, which is what makes UV treatment effective. If your water has a higher fine sediment or silt load, the Waiora Clarity II + UV 33W bundle adds a 1 micron polyspun second stage between the pleated filter and the UV unit for more thorough particle removal before treatment. Get in touch if you're unsure which bundle suits your supply. A note on bore water Bore water quality varies significantly from site to site. We recommend having your bore water tested before selecting a filtration system — the mineral content, bacterial load, and other characteristics of your bore will determine whether this configuration is appropriate or whether additional stages are needed. Get in touch and we'll help you interpret the results. What's in the box Clarity I (ships separately): Waiora Clarity I filter system (pre-assembled) 20 micron pleated sediment cartridge Powder-coated steel bracket Housing spanner UV 33W (ships separately): Waimana UV chamber (stainless steel) 33W UV lamp Quartz sleeve Ballast with power lead and 3-pin plug Flow switch Spring O-rings FAQ Why do I need both filtration and UV? Filtration removes sediment and particles. UV treats water against bacteria, viruses, and microbes. They address different things — filtration alone does not treat microbiological contamination, and UV alone cannot work effectively if the water is turbid or contains sediment. Together they provide whole house treatment for tank and bore water. Why does the order matter? UV treatment requires clear water. If sediment reaches the UV chamber, it blocks the UV light from reaching micro-organisms in the water — reducing or eliminating treatment effectiveness. The Clarity I's sediment stage ensures clear water arrives at the UV chamber. What's the difference between this bundle and the Clarity II + UV 33W bundle? The Clarity II bundle adds a 1 micron polyspun second stage between the pleated filter and the UV unit. This removes fine silt and particles that pass through the 20 micron pleated stage and provides additional particulate protection before UV treatment. If your water has a higher fine sediment load, the Clarity II bundle is the better choice. Is this suitable for bore water? It can be, but bore water varies significantly from site to site. We recommend testing your bore water before ordering — get in touch and we'll help you confirm this is the right configuration for your supply. Do the two items need to be installed at the same time? They can be installed together or separately. The Clarity I filter system is installed upstream and the UV unit downstream — the UV unit should always be the last stage before water enters the home. Do I need a plumber to install it? We recommend a licensed plumber for both components. The Clarity I uses standard 25mm BSP fittings and arrives pre-assembled with a housing spanner. The UV unit uses 25mm BSP and plugs into a standard 240V outlet. What warranty applies? Both items carry a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. Filter cartridges and the UV lamp are consumables and are not covered.
