A super rare and beautifully preserved handwoven Qashqai rug featuring an incredibly rich teal and rust palette layered with intricate tribal symbolism and bold geometric design. Woven by Qashqai nomadic weavers in the Shiraz region of southern Persia, this piece has that unmistakable balance of raw authenticity and refined artistry that makes antique tribal rugs feel so relevant in contemporary interiors. The deep oxidised rust field is contrasted by saturated teal-blue medallions and inky navy detailing, creating a dramatic, almost cinematic colour story. Three oversized diamond medallions anchor the composition, surrounded by scattered tribal motifs, protective symbols, stylised florals and tiny geometric forms that reveal new details every time you look at it. The stepped ivory outlines and densely patterned borders give the rug a sharp graphic edge while still feeling warm, soulful and lived-in. There’s a boldness to this piece that feels incredibly current, earthy but graphic, traditional but almost abstract at the same time. The combination of burnt terracotta, teal, espresso brown and faded indigo works beautifully against minimalist spaces, dark woods, chrome, plaster walls or mid-century interiors.
