Pair of Shelby Furbies, 2001

Say hello to two little limited-edition Happy Meal Shelby Furbies, celebrating their 25th birthday this year. Shelby is basically a sea creature version of Furby - rounder, more clam-like, and designed to look like it lives underwater. Released in 2001 by Tiger Electronics in collaboration with McDonald’s, these quirky little oddballs proved that even fast food toys can have deep sea energy. These little guys were much loved but short-lived, popping up in meal boxes for just a few months before disappearing back into the toy ocean. That makes them rarer (and cooler) than their more common Furby cousins.
