Statement Earring Workshop

Join us for 3 hours of jewellery making! We are very excited to announce our NEW Statement earring workshops that will be held on Saturday 9th May at 11am - 2pm in Totnes, Devon. These are easy fun workshops, learning the very basics of jewellery making, you will come away with a pair of brass statement earrings with sterling silver earring posts, that you have designed and made yourself! You can really get creative and make any design you like, we will be on hand to guide through the design process and show you how your idea could translate to a piece of jewellery, or alternatively will we have design examples you can take inspiration from. All abilities welcome! During your workshop experience you will learn to design your piece, use specialist jewellers tools to create different shapes and designs, you will file, shape and texture your earrings, you will have the option to personalise your work yourself with numbers, letters or symbols and patterns if you so wish. This will be a hammer happy creative event! You could make the earrings for yourself or impress your loved with a handmade gift by you! You also have the option of making additional pairs if you wish during the workshop, you can make as many as you like or can in the 3 hour workshop! all materials are included for your first pair no size restrictions either! thereafter it will be a small charge of £10 per earring pair for any additional pairs, just to cover the costs of the additional silver ear posts again you can make them as big or as little as you like! The 3 hour workshops leaves you plenty of time before or after to explore Totnes and all it has to offer such as the Saturday market, Totnes Castle, all our independent shops which we are famous for and all of the wonderful Totnes coffee shops and cafes. Please note, you will gain some basic knowledge of jewellery making but this is a fun workshop with the opportunity to make your own piece of jewellery or a gift for a loved one. This is not intended as an educational or vocational workshop and you will not gain any certification from this workshop. Your workshop will include - some tasty nibbles and sweet treats. Tea, coffee and soft drinks. Workshops will be small groups of 6 so if you would like to participate as group be sure to book soon, as spaces and times are limited, so be quick to book and avoid any disappointment. You will be taught by - Rebecca Furze founder of RFJ who has nearly 19 years experience in jewellery making and 12 years professionally in the industry, Rebecca will be assisted with one of our incredibly talented jewellers and teachers, Stevie Aryes who graduated from Plymouth university back in 2016 with 10 years experience and Zoe Goldsworthy - Hall who graduated 6 years ago from the British Academy of Jewellery. These are heat free workshops great if you want to learn soldering free jewellery making and the basics of jewellery making. Ages 16+ suitable for all abilities If participants are under 18 they must be accompanied by a participating adult. Due to insurance purposes we strictly can only have attendees aged 16+ We cannot accommodate anyone other than those participating in the workshop, so please do not bring any guest in attendance with you. Safety is always first within our workshop, anyone who does not follow safety instructions/rules and respect the safety of others and our workshop environment will be asked to leave and will not be offered a refund. For your own safety you must wear closed toed shoes, tie long hair back and avoid loose clothing, scarves, tassels, wide sleeves etc. Participants accept the workshop has a risk of injury due to the nature of tools and Sharpe objects and Rebecca Furze Jewellery will not be held liable for any accidents as a result of failure to follow safety instructions or studio safety rules By purchasing and attending any course held at Rebecca Furze Jewellery, the student/participant accepts all risks. Please allow plenty of time to find parking in Totnes. you are welcome to arrive early and browse in our shop before you start your workshop. once the workshop is ready to begin we will invite you to join us in the workshop area. we cannot wait to teach you this very unique workshop! let,s get creative. Please note - We require 48hours notice if you wish to cancel your booking. Workshops are non - refundable, unless your place can be filled in which case the full amount will be refunded. A £15 admin fee will be deducted from the full amount for each booking. Should you wish for someone to come in your place we must have their full details 48hrs prior to the booking and require a £15 admin fee to make changes to the booking.
