STEIFF Gaty Hand Puppet ~ 1950-60s

The Crocodile is one of the most iconic characters in a puppet show and Steiff, the legendary plush toy maker, wouldn't let its wide range of adorable hand puppets missing such a classic figure! Gaty the Alligator is a really fun hand puppet and has an incredible stage presence. Its extra long mouth with felt teeth is very eye-catching. This puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany circa 1950-60s. It uses the nicest mohair plush with some equally remarkable airbrushing work. Gaty's head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. This puppet is in very good condition with vibrant coloring and still retains a crisp chest tag.
